Melissa Nabbe Matusevich

Raised on the Suncoast of Florida Melissa Nabbe Matusevich worked for forty years as a public educator in various capacities. She retired as a college professor in 2009 and then worked as a travel writer. After many years hearing her father regale the family about his World War II exploits as a chauffeur in Washington, DC, she convinced him to record his memories. When she obtained the letters her father’s brother sent to him from the front lines of World War II, Matusevich was struck by the stark contrast in the brothers’ war experiences. Weaving together the two stories became the basis of this book. Matusevich resides in Blacksburg, Virginia where she has made her home since 1972.
